Larry H. Miller Sports and Entertainment Division Furloughs Approximately 40 Percent of Employees

SALT LAKE CITY-Friday morning, the Larry H. Miller Sports & Entertainment Division of the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies began informing employees of furloughs that will end up affecting a large number of the companies’ workforce.

This includes the Utah Jazz, the Salt Lake Bees, Vivint Smart Home Arena and Megaplex Theaters.

Around 200 people will be furloughed, or 40 percent of their workforce.

Other cost-cutting measures included the entire Larry H. Miller group cutting a small percentage, or around 1,000 employees, in early April.

This cut entailed car dealerships and other non-sports and entertainment businesses in the family.

Larry H. Miller Sports and Entertainment president Jim Olson said the company’s intent is to bring back employees when normalcy returns.

However, the furloughed employees were not given a timeline.
