WEST JORDAN, Utah-Late Tuesday evening, 31-year-old Albert Enoch Johnson was extradited to Utah after being arrested for his reported murders in a homicide last month.
Johnson was apprehended at Stockton, Calif. and booked into the Salt Lake County Jail Tuesday per jail records.
Wednesday morning, Salt Lake County District Attorney Sim Gill and West Jordan Police Chief Ken Wallentine are scheduled to provide an update on the case during a press conference slated for 11:00 am.
Authorities allege Johnson broke into Tony and Katherine Butterfield of West Jordan April 18, killing the couple.
Their bodies were discovered as police responded to gunshots in the area.
The couple’s three young children were also home at the time, but were not physically harmed.
West Jordan authorities confirmed Johnson was named as a suspect in the case two days later.
April 23, Johnson’s wife, Sina Johnson, was charged with obstruction of justice, a second-degree felony.
Sina Johnson is currently being detained at the Salt Lake County Jail, per jail records.
A probable cause statement attests Albert Enoch Johnson knew the Butterfieds. On April 18, he told investigators that he kicked in the Butterfields’ door.
