AUSTIN, Texas-Wednesday, Utah Valley University men’s basketball confirmed they will play a non-conference game at Texas December 1, 2020 at a time still yet to be determined.
Wolverines head coach Mark Madsen expressed his appreciation that Texas agreed to play this game against UVU and paid tribute to Longhorns head coach Shaka Smart, saying he has done a “tremendous job” as the Texas head coach.
This is a historic game as the Wolverines and Longhorns have never crossed paths on the hardwood.
This is only the third time in program history that UVU has played a Big 12 squad as they visited Oklahoma State at Stillwater, Okla. in 2013 and former Big 12 member, Nebraska, at Lincoln, Neb. in 2015.
In addition to the game at Texas, Madsen’s squad will also face in-state foes BYU, Utah and Southern Utah in non-conference play next season.
