BENTONVILLE, Ark.-Thursday, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced the site for its new temple, located at Bentonville, Ark.
This temple was announced by Church President Russell M. Nelson in October 2019. It will be built on an 8.8-acre site, located at 1101 McCollum Road in Bentonville.
Plans are calling for a single-story temple of approximately 25,000 square feet to feature a central spire.
The temple is to share the site with an existing meetinghouse.
A groundbreaking date has not yet been set. Project leaders have commenced working with city officials on preliminary plans for the temple and they will soon begin filing public documents.
This is to be the first temple in Arkansas.
The Razorback State has 31,000 Latter-day Saints with approximately 70 congregations.
