Senior Missionary From Utah Dies Because of Complications From Coronavirus

SALT LAKE CITY-A Willard resident who was serving in the Michigan Detroit Mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints died because of complications from COVID-19 per a statement released Sunday.

68-year-old Allen Dee Pace was diagnosed with this illness in April after becoming ill in mid-March per a statement from Church spokesman Daniel Woodruff.

Shortly after his illness struck, Pace went into the care of his wife and daughter in a neighboring state after which he died Saturday.

Pace and his wife, Nedra Pace had each been serving in the misison field together. Woodruff confirmed the couple had not been formally released from their mission.
