SALT LAKE CITY-Friday, on his various social media accounts, President Russell M. Nelson of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints thanked those for participating in global fasts March 29 and April 10 for their contributions in combating the COVID-19 pandemic.
His call for a fast on Good Friday on April 5 during the Salt Lake City-based faith’s semiannual general conference, was echoed by leaders of other faiths. This ultimately resulted in the formation of a Facebook group featuring 500,000 believers in various religions fasting for the good of the world.
President Nelson reiterated his beliefs that better times are ahead in his social media remarks.
