OREM, Utah-Wednesday, Utah Valley men’s basketball coach Mark Madsen signed Salt Lake Community College wing Asa McCord per a statement.
McCord, a 6-6 sophomore out of Saratoga Springs, Utah and Westlake High School, averaged 11.5 points and 8.3 rebounds per game for the Bruins this past season.
SLCC also had another standout receive an opportunity to play Division I basketball Wednesday.
6-5 redshirt freshman wing Adam Hess, a native of Thousand Oaks, Calif. has signed with the UTEP Miners of Conference USA.
Hess averaged 8 points a game for the Bruins while shooting 81.8 percent at the foul line.
The Bruins were 29-4 and 12-0 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play in 2019-20.
They were slated to play in the NJCAA National Championship Tournament at Hutchinson, Kan. before COVID-19 disrupted their plans last month.
