HEBER CITY, Utah-Tuesday, Wasatch County confirmed it has extended its stay-at-home order through April 30, per a statement released by the Wasatch County Department of Health.
Health department personnel told Heber Valley Radio that upon the county reopening May 1, social distancing regulations will still be encouraged.
It will not be “business as usual,” but rather, slow and certain progression toward normalcy, per comments from the health department.
In statements from Wasatch County Health Director Randall Probst, the proper social distancing regulations are being kept, but new cases emerge daily in the Heber Valley.
Probst says that staying the course will align Wasatch County with other areas in Utah that have imposed comparable restrictions as well as with Utah Governor Gary Herbert’s directive.
This order does the following:
-directs all individuals to stay home except to engage in essential activities. This includes going to work under the conditions outlined in Wasatch County’s original order.
-matches earlier county/state public health orders concerning food service operations
-requires that all business and operations, except essential businesses, and minimum basic operations, remain closed to the public, except as detailed in the order.
-requires all businesses to actively enforce personal distancing practices and exclude ill employees from working. Personal distancing should include at least six feet between all people in any establishment.
-defines essential businesses that should remain open and advises personal distancing and sanitation practices. Essential businesses must still exclude ill employees from working.
-closes children’s playgrounds and prohibits team sports, including pick-up games, although outdoor sports courts and fields will remain open for individuals that reside in the same household.
Violations of these instructions shall be implemented consistently with applicable law.
