HEBER CITY, Utah-Monday evening, Wasatch County School District released information, written in Spanish on their Instagram page, concerning the difficulties many families in the Heber Valley are experiencing because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This is specifically geared toward graduating seniors at Wasatch High School for the class of 2020.
The district cited the 2020-21 “Solicitud Gratuita” and the 2018 legislation “Ayuda Federal para Estudinates” as resources that can be used to determine if Latino families are eligible for financial assistance from the federal government.
If a family’s financial situation has experienced drastic changes since 2018, per the statement, they can contact financial offices at colleges or universities to assess their options.
These institutions will then follow the proper steps to assist students in need.
