SALT LAKE CITY-In news released Friday afternoon, the University of Utah confirmed that commencement will occur virtually for the class of 2020 April 30.
This will be followed up by a conventional commencement ceremony December 18-19.
Students took part in a survey which offered the following celebration options for graduation:
-Class of 2020 reunion party during Homecoming Week (October 10-17, 2020)
-December 2020 convocation
-May 2021 convocation celebrating the Classes of 2020 and 2021.
By virtue of the majority’s choice, the virtual commencement ceremony was selected.
Students who graduated in summer 2019, fall 2019, spring 2020, summer 2020 and fall 2020 will also be invited to particpate.
This commencement will occur April 30 at 6:30 pm and will be broadcast at utah.edu/live.
