ACCRA, Ghana/LAGOS, Nigeria-Saturday and Sunday, West African members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be able to watch general conference sessions of the church for the first time on local television.
Because of the COVID-19 panic, Ghanaians, Nigerians and members of the Church from other West African nations are disallowed from going to meetinghouses to watch the conference.
Therefore, they successfully contacted local television and radio stations, getting them to broadcast these proceedings from Salt Lake City.
Ghanaian Latter-day Saints are able to watch on one television channel while four radio stations will be broadcasting the proceedings.
Throughout Sierra Leone, television and radio channels will be carrying the broadcasts.
Nigerian Latter-day Saints are able to watch general conference on three cable channels and a local radio station.
Nigeria usually only broadcasts religious programming for one hour but broadcasters in the country have made an exception for the 2-hour sessions of general conference.
Other West African nations with bilingual English and French populations, including Cote d’Ivoire, Togo, Benin, Mali and Senegal will be able to tune into the broadcasts in both English and French on various Internet channels.
