COVID-19 Concerns Cause 50 Percent of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ Missionary Force

SALT LAKE CITY-As of Thursday morning, no Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints missionaries have tested positive for COVID-19.

Nevertheless, the global pandemic has caused reassignment or release in the Salt Lake City-based faith’s missionary service efforts worldwide.

However, as of this stage, no nonnative mission leaders have returned to their countries of origin.

In missions throughout the Church, video-conference training is occurring. This is for missionaries assigned to zones, districts and companionships and is used roughly 6-8 hours daily.

They are able to listen to devotionals, work in small groups and split into small companionships for role-playing activities.
