Trump Confirms The U.S. Was Not Intended To Be Shut Down Monday

WASHINGTON-Monday evening, as United States President Donald Trump addressed the media for a White House press briefing, he reiterated several of his remarks on Twitter Sunday evening.

Trump confirmed that at the end of the 15-day period (March 31) there will be a determination as to what direction we want the country to go per his statements.

With this day only 8 days away, Trump stated his optimism that he believes things will get better. He also exhorted Americans to “stay united” during this time of crisis.

Trump also stated the country was not built to be shut down and he has called for an end to partisan politics in hopes that Republicans and Democrats can unite their forces for the greater good of the country.

Trump continued by saying 73 pallets of emergency supplies have been sent to New York (where the cases of coronavirus are 8 percent higher than the rest of the nation) and 36 more have been sent to Washington state, another area where COVID-19 has been exceptionally prominent in the United States.

Trump also stated that, as of Monday, the stockpiling and hoarding of “essential items,” such as toilet paper, is now a criminal act.

These statements were confirmed by the next speaker, United States Attorney General William Barr, saying that price gouging of these items will also be criminally prosecuted.

White Horse coronavirus response coordinator, Dr. Deborah L. Birx, stated that there have been only two deaths suffered by youth under the age of 15 in the world and none younger than a 14-year-old in China.
