MEASURES TO PROTECT PUBLIC HEALTH FROM COVID-19

The Center for Disease Control (“CDC”), Governor Herbert, and County Health Department have recently issued recommendations for schools and other critical public services.

In accordance with the principles of those recommendations, the Sheriff’s Office and Heber City Police are taking the following temporary measures:
-Not entering residences, except to conduct criminal investigations;
-Wearing recommended safety gear to prevent the spreading of the virus;
-Handling calls for service by phone, where possible; and
-Limiting access into the lobbies and offices of the Police Department and Sheriff’s Office.

In addition, the Sheriff’s Office and Police Department will temporarily NOT be able to do:
-VIN Inspections;
-Lock-outs (with the exception of a child locked in vehicle);
-Applicant fingerprints;
-Tours of facilities; and
-Allow use of their community rooms.

Please know that if you do come to the Police Department or Sheriff’s Office, a deputy/officer will not meet you in the lobby, but will call you.

As always, it is our desire to serve and protect. These temporary changes allow us to do that without jeopardizing community safety and health.

We are constantly re-evaluating the current circumstances and health recommendations and will keep you updated.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
