Heber Light and Power Announces COVID-19 Adjustments To Business

HEBER CITY, Utah-Monday, Heber Light & Power general manager Jason Norlen revealed operational plans for the Heber City-based utility amid the COVID-19 outbreak.

“The well-being and safety of our employees, customers and partners is always our top focus,” Norlen confirmed in a press release issued to the community.

Norlen continued by confirming the utility has created certain protocols.

These include:

-Workforce. Heber Light & Power is following the recommendations of the CDC  for their workforce. This will decrease interactions between employees and customers, restricting travel and teleworking when possible.

-Office changes. The lobby, located at 31 S. 100 West, Heber City, has been closed to foot traffic. Contact methods are still open and in-effect. The drive-thru window on the north side of the building will still be open. A SmartHub application will be applied. This is available online at heberpower.smarthub.coop. The SmartHub phone app is available on iTunes, Google Play and SmartHub. Interactive voice recognition is available at 1-844-210-8259. There are payment dropboxes on the south side of the building and a mail slot by the front door.

Heber Light & Power has also temporarily suspended disconnections for nonpayment. However, customers in this situation should call to make payment arrangements in order to not fall further behind.

Norlen concludes his statement by telling the community that if there should be any questions/concerns about power in the Heber Valley, residents should not hesitate to reach out to their account representative(s).
