Boys Basketball

Region 8

SPANISH FORK, Utah-Gabe Oldham posted 28 points and for the second time this season, the Spanish Fork Dons prevailed over the Wasatch Wasps in overtime, taking a 68-66 win over head coach James Ballstaedt’s squd at La Hacienda in Region 8 boys basketball action. Will Harris, Mack Hinckley and Lance Gehring all had strong performances in the loss for the Wasps, who fell to 7-9 and 5-4 in Region 8 play.

The Dons improved to 10-8 and 5-4 in Region 8 play, holding a tiebreaker over the Wasps for seeding implications.

Girls Basketball

Region 8

SPANISH FORK, Utah-Eliza Bowman amassed 27 points and 6 steals as the Spanish Fork Dons got past Wasatch 70-66 in overtime Tuesday in Region 8 girls basketball action. Aspyn Neumann had a game-high 28 points in the loss for the Wasps. The Dons improved to 6-10 and 5-5 in Region 8 play with the win. Norm Hayter’s Wasps fell to 8-11 and 4-6 in Region 8 play.

The Wasps are next in action Thursday at 5:15 at the Nest against the Park City Miners as Region 8 play ensues.
