Weber State Legend Damian Lillard Named To Inaugural Big Sky Confernce Hall of Fame Class

BOISE, Idaho-Wednesday, Weber State men’s basketball legend Damian Lillard (2009-12) was named to the inaugural Big Sky Conference Hall of Fame class, presented by Jimmy John’s.

This will officially occur March 14 at the Big Sky men’s and women’s basketball championships at the CenturyLink Arena of Boise, Idaho.

Lillard is the only men’s basketball player in the inaugural class which includes former Kansas City Chiefs/Minnesota Vikings/Chicago Bears defensive end Jared Allen, former Kansas City Chiefs/Green Bay Packers/Minnesota Vikings kicker Jan Stenerud and former San Diego Chargers/Washington Redskins/Seattle Seahawks/New England Patriots quarterback John Friesz, among others.

Lillard is the only men’s basketball player in conference history to be named to an All-American team.

He earned third-team All-American honors in 2012 after posting 24.5 points per game, the best in program history.

The two-time Big Sky MVP is third in program history with 1,934 points and netted first-team all-conference honors three times.

The current star point guard of the Portland Trail Blazers, Lillard is a May 2015 graduate of Weber State and has hosted three Weber State men’s basketball alumni classics.

The school retired his jersey in August 2017 during a special ceremony at the Dee Events Center.

Lillard is also the only Weber State athlete named to the class.
