NEW ORLEANS-Thursday, Utah senior signal-caller Tyler Huntley was named a finalist for the Manning Award, sponsored by the Allstate Sugar Bowl.
This award was created to commemorate the college football accomplishments of the famous Manning family, star quarterbacks Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning.
This is the only award for quarterbacks that take the candidates’ bowl performances into consideration in its balloting.
Huntley is also a Heisman Trophy candidate, as well as a finalist for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award and the Davey O’Brien Award.
Huntley ranks second nationally in completion percentage by completing 75.5 percent of his passes (188-249) for 2,773 yards, 16 touchdowns and two interceptions.
Huntley also seventh nationally in yards per completion (14.75 yards per completion) and fifth in passing efficiency (188.6).
