Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest Updates Ladder Fire Status

Monday, the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest updated the status of the Ladder Fire burning on forest land near the Heber-Kamas road.

The blaze, which was initially reported Sunday afternoon at 2:00 pm, is currently estimated to have burned 300 acres.

It is primarily burning in grass brush and some aspen stands. Presently, there is no threat to structures that has been caused.

The fire’s cause is currently under investigation. Firefighters representing Wasatch County, Fruitland, the state of Utah and the U.S. Forest Service are combating the blaze presently.

At times, smoke has been visible from various places alongside U.S. Highway 40.
