Heber City Candidate Mike Johnston

Heber City Candidate Mike Johnston talked with The Peak station manager, Dan Jessop about the many opportunities the city has to move forward in the future.

My name is Mike Johnston, and I am hoping to win your vote for Heber City Council. I came to Heber 26 years ago, and like many of you – I love this place and never plan to leave! With my best friend – my wife Sheila – we have raised three kids here.

I am a professional engineer with deep knowledge, education, and experience in urban design, roads and transportation, utilities, zoning regulations, water issues, city growth pressures, municipal and state codes and regulations, neighborhood planning, and a lot more. In other words, I am a problem-solver for the many issues that this city faces.

I am a local business owner with 14 employees, and I very much understand balance sheets, profit & loss, paying taxes, employment law, insurance, finance, deadlines, and working effectively with others to get a job done. I feel very qualified to work with four other city councilpersons, the mayor, and the city staff to address the huge and pressing growth issues that are before us as a city!
