Weber State Men’s Basketball’s Jerrick Harding Named As Big Sky Preseason MVP.

OGDEN, Utah-Wednesday, Weber State men’s basketball senior guard Jerrick Harding has been named as the Big Sky Conference’s preseason MVP .

This was predicated upon the votes of head coaches, athletic communications directors and media members from around the conference.

Since the Big Sky began naming an all-conference team in 2015, Harding is the first Wildcats player to receive this distinction.

The native of Wichita, Kan. is a two-time first-team all-Big Sky team member and a two-time first-team all-district selection.

Last season, Harding ranked second in the Big Sky and 15th nationally with 21.4 points per game, scoring in double figures in 27 of the 30 games he played in for the Wildcats.

Harding currently ranks fifth in school history in points, with 1,621. Furthermore, he is Weber State’s career leader in free throw percentage (87.2 percent) and ranks ninth in program history in 3-pointers and 10th in career steals.

Harding will be joined on the preseason All-Big Sky team by Montana senior guard Sayeed Pridgett, Montana State senior guard Harald Frey, Portland State junior guard Holland “Boo Boo” Woods, Eastern Washington senior forward Mason Peatling and his teammate, redshirt junior guard Jacob Davison.

The Wildcats are first in action at the Dee Events Center November 2 against NCAA Division II foe Western Colorado. Their regular season commences November 8 at Utah State and their first regular season  home game is November 14 against San Diego of the West Coast Conference.
