Abbie Randall Wins Girls’ 5-K Individual Title Saturday at Soldier Hollow

HEBER CITY, Utah-Saturday, Abbie Randall earned the individual 5-K girls’ title at the 2019 Wasatch Cross Country Invitational at Soldier Hollow.

Randall, still only a junior, posted a time of 21:09.70 to outlast Wasatch Academy’s Ashley Lagat in a time of 21:28.20, as Lagat placed second.

The Mountain View girls won the team title with 31 points and the Wasps’ girls were second with 81 points.

For the boys, the American Fork Cavemen took the title with 41 points and American Fork’s Ashton Hysell took the individual title in the 5-K in a time of 17:16.90.

Other Wasatch girls to excel included 7th place finisher, freshman Allison Munck (22:02.90) and senior Anna Baird who placed 21st (23:18.00).

Freshman Lillie Randall placed 29th (23:52.50) and senior Madelyn King finished 31st (24:05.20).

Also, junior Danielle Krull placed 43rd (24:48.30) and junior Megan Woodward finished 58th (26:07.90).

For the boys, senior Josh Horner placed 23rd (18:30.60). Senior Bentley Ackerson finished 31st (19:05.20), freshman Trevor Hardy placed 36th (19:14.10) and sophomore Jake Giles placed 40th (19:27.90).

Sophomore Carson Guymon placed 42nd (19:28.90), senior Josh Benson finished 50th (19:50.00) and junior Ethan Huntsman (22:12.50) placed 82nd.
