Pacific Coast League

EL PASO, Texas-Peter Van Gansen homered while Matthew Batten and Taylor Kohlwey each had RBI for the El Paso Chihuahuas in the pivotal 6th Inning as they edged the Salt Lake Bees 7-6 Tuesday at Southwest University Park in Pacific Coast League baseball action. Gerardo Reyes improved to 4-1 on the season with the win on the mound as El Paso improved to 78-56. Jose Rojas hit his 30th home run of the season in the loss for the 57-76 Bees.

Pioneer League

OGDEN, Utah-Nick Egnatuk, Joe Gray and Carlos Rodriguez all homered as the Rocky Mountain Vibes edged Ogden 4-3 Tuesday at Lindquist Field in Pioneer League baseball action. Franklin Hernandez earned the win on the mound for the Vibes as he improved to 1-0 on the season. Rocky Mountain is now 29-36 on the season while the Raptors slumped to 48-17. Aldrich De Jongh, Wladimir Chalo and Andrew Shaps all had RBI in defeat for the Raptors.

OREM, Utah-Colin Simpson’s grand slam got the Grand Junction Rockies off to a good start in the 1st Inning en route to a 10-8 win over the Orem Owlz in 10 innings at UCCU Ballpark in Pioneer League baseball action Tuesday. Gavin Hollowell improved to 3-0 on the season by getting the win on the mound for the 31-33 Rockies. Cristian Gomez’s bottom of the 9th RBI triple tied things up at 6-6 for the 25-40 Owlz. Grand Junction pulled out the victory by virtue of a fielding error, a fielders choice and a wild pitch in their half of the 10th.
