ROME-Yoeli Childs amassed 21 points and 7 rebounds and Jake Toolson added 13 points as the BYU men’s basketball team bested Stella Azzurra 71-62 Thursday at Arena Arturo Felici.
The Cougars came out of the gates slowly, down 16-10 after the first quarter, only to respond with a 28-14 surge in the second quarter to take a 38-30 lead into the locker room they would not relinquish.
BYU concludes their Italian tour Friday againt the LCC International Moose of Klaipeda, Lithuania for an 1100 am tip-off.
