SALT LAKE CITY-Lewis Brinson and Peter O’Brien each homered twice and the New Orleans Baby Cakes blasted the Salt Lake Bees 13-6 in Pacific Coast League baseball action Saturday at Smith’s Ballpark. Jesus Sanchez, Austin Dean and Rosell Herrera also homered for New Orleans, as they improved to 59-51 with the win. Tyler Stevens earned his first win of the season on the mound for the Baby Cakes, as he is now 1-0. Jared Walsh hit his 29th home run of the season in the loss for the Bees, as they fell to 49-63.
Pioneer League
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.-Luis Avalo, Nick Egnatuk, Jess Williams, Bryan Torres and Jose Sibrian each had RBI as the Rocky Mountain Vibes dismantled the Ogden Raptors 5-1 Saturday in Pioneer League baseball action at UCHealth Park.
Brady Schaunel improved to 5-1 on the season with the win for the Vibes, as they improved to 21-25. Ogden fell to 36-10 with the loss. During the frustrating evening for the Raptors, manager Austin Chubb was ejected in the 7th Inning.
OREM, Utah.-Christian Koss had bookend RBI as the Grand Junction Rockies blanked Orem 6-0 Saturday at UCCU Ballpark in Pioneer League baseball action. Jack Yalowitz and Brenton Doyle each added RBI for the Rockies, who improved to 25-21 with the win. Jared Horn earned the win on the mound for Grand Junction, as he is now 1-0 on the season.
