SALT LAKE CITY-Wilfredo Tovar, Nick Franklin and Anthony Bemboom each homered as the Salt Lake Bees got past the Sacramento River Cats 9-6 Thursday at Smith’s Ballpark in Pacific Coast League baseball action.
Jose Rodriguez earned the win on the mound for the Bees in improving to 2-2 on the season while Salt Lake improved to 42-56. Zach Green hit his 23rd home run of the season in the loss for Sacramento as the River Cats fell to 51-47.
Pioneer League
OREM, Utah-D’Shawn Knowles, Adrian Rondon and Jose Verrier each homered in a productive 4th Inning as the Orem Owlz bested the Grand Junction Rockies 7-3 Thursday at UCCU Ballpark in Pioneer League baseball action. The Owlz’ four runs in the fourth inning proved sufficient to improve to 12-20 on the season. Kelvin Moncion earned the win on the mound for the Owlz, as he is 1-0 on the season.
Yolki Pena and Christopher Navarro homered in defeat for the Rockies, as they fell to 17-15.
