SALT LAKE CITY-Francisco Pena, Levi Michael and Mike Gerber each homered as the Sacramento River Cats bested the Salt Lake Bees 8-5 Wednesday in Pacific Coast League baseball action at Smith’s Ballpark. Yoanys Quiala improved to 5-5 on the season for the River Cats, who, in turn, improved to 51-46 on the season. Jose Rojas and Kaleb Cowart homered in the loss for the Bees, as they fell to 41-56.
Pioneer League
IDAHO FALLS, Idaho-Anthony Mulrine had a key RBI triple in the pivotal 7th Inning and put the game away with a 3-run homer in the 8th Inning as the Orem Owlz downed the Idaho Falls Chukars 9-7 in Pioneer League baseball action Wednesday at Melaleuca Field. Seth Ballew earned the win on the mound for the 11-20 Owlz. Clay Dungan, Juan Carlos Negret and Isaiah Henry all homered in the loss for the Chukars, as they fell to 16-13.
MISSOULA, Mont.-Jimmy Titus and Marco Hernandez each homered as the Ogden Raptors ensued in their winning ways by clobbering the Missoula Osprey 9-0 Wednesday in Pioneer League baseball action at Ogren Park Allegiance Field. Kevin Malisheski improved to 4-2 on the season by earning the win for the Raptors. Justin Yurchak, Ryan Ward, Andy Pages, Brandon Lewis and Joe Vranesh also added RBI in the win for Ogden as the Raptors improved to 25-6. The Osprey fell to 15-16 with the loss.
