Pacific Coast League
TACOMA, Wash.-Shed Long belted an inside-the-park grand slam to puncutate a 12-3 win for the Tacoma Rainiers over the Salt Lake Bees Saturday at Cheney Stadium in Pacific Coast League baseball action.
Kristopher Negron also homered and singled for the Raniers, who improved to 40-42 with the win. Jake Fraley and Ryan Court also had RBI in the win for Tacoma.
In defeat, the 35-46 Bees were led by Ty Kelly’s solo home run and a 2-RBI single from Roberto Pena.
Pioneer League
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.-Sam McWilliams homered twice, leading the Ogden Raptors to a 19-8 win over the Grand Junction Rockies Saturday at Suplizio Field in Pioneer League action.
The Raptors, who improved to 10-5 with the win, built a 9-0 lead in the 2nd Inning. In this stanza, Ogden received RBI from Zac Ching, Marco Hernandez, Brandon Wulff, and Jon Littell.
Joe Vranesh and Justin Yurchak also had RBI in the win for the Raptors.
The Rockies fell to 7-7 with the loss.
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.-Ernesto Martinez’s solo home run began a 7-0 run for the Rocky Mountain Vibes as they overcame a 5-0 deficit to best the Orem Owlz 7-5 at UC Health Park Saturday in Pioneer League action.
The Vibes were also led by Antonio Pinero’s 2 RBI and an RBI single from Jose Sibrian to help put the game away. Rocky Mountain improved to 6-8 with the win.
Will Wilson homered and doubled in the loss for the Owlz, with Kevin Arias also adding an RBI single for Orem, as they fell to 6-9 with the loss.
