Pacific Coast League

SALT LAKE CITY-Kevin Cron homered and singled as the Reno Aces bested the Salt Lake Bees 10-6 Thursday at Smith’s Ballpark in Pacific Coast League minor league baseball action. After the Bees had pulled to within 7-6 in the 8th Inning on a Jarrett Parker RBI groundout, the Aces got a pair of key home runs in the top of the 9th (from Cron and Yasmany Tomas) to improve to 35-44 on the season. Kaleb Cowart homered twice and added a double in the loss for the Bees, who fell to 35-44.

Pioneer League

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.-David Clawson started the game with a top of the 1st Inning RBI single and the Orem Owlz overpowered the Rocky Mountain Vibes 3-1 Thursday in Pioneer League baseball action at UC Health Park.

The Owls also scored on a 4th Inning bases loaded walk and Brandon White scored on a passed ball in the 8th Inning to help Orem improve to 6-7 on the season.

Matt Leon earned the win on the mound for the Owlz, as he improved to 2-1 on the season. Nick Egnatuk scored on a throwing error by Orem second baseman Jeremiah Jackson for the Vibes, as they fell to 4-8.
