SALT LAKE CITY-Thursday, Utah men’s basketball confirmed the final additions made to this season’s coaching staff.
Head coach Larry Krystkowiak has added Henry Martinez as an assistant coach and Donny Daniels as the director of player development.
Martinez comes to the Utes’ program after spending the last 16 years as the director/head coach of the ProBasket Academy of Costa Rica.
Martinez brings coaching experience from both the high school and professional levels. He has a 15-year affiliation as a player/coach with the Costa Rica National Team.
Martinez is a former member of the Costa Rican National Team, averaging 20 or more points in five different seasons.
Daniels returning to the program after serving under Rick Majerus for the Utes from 1990-2000.
During Daniels’ time at Utah, the Utes reached the NCAA Tournament eight times and played in the 1998 national championship game against Kentucky, losing to the Wildcats.
Daniels has also coached at Cal State Fullerton, UCLA and Gonzaga.
