Wasatch County School District employee Robert “Bob” Miller passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at home due to illness and complications from cancer. Bob worked as a bus driver for many years, picking up elementary to high school kids on his regular daily route around the valley, plus shuttling sports teams across the state, and driving the ski program in the 1980’s. Bob loved children and would often tease them as they stepped onto his bus, coxing a smile and sharing the goodness in the day with a silly joke or a funny face.
Bob made so many contributions to the community with his smile and zest for life. When his beloved Diane passed away, Bob found strength in his love for the high school programs, he would clip news articles and tape them to the inside of his bus, displaying sports scores and highlights of the teams and players. When it was time to let go of the bus steering wheel Bob focused his attention on becoming Wasatch High School #1 cheerleader, he could be seen at many athletic events, wrestles, football games and boys & girls soccer matches. He never wanted to grow up and was always a kid at heart. The kids loved riding on “Bob’s Bus”!
As a community, we mourn his passing and celebrate his love & zest for youthful living. Our thoughts and prayers go with his children, Ester & Phil. We want them to know how much we appreciate sharing their dad with us for so many years on that big yellow bus. God bless you, Bob Miller.
Viewing will be held at Probst Mortuary on Sunday, May 19, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Graveside services at Monday, May 20th at noon at the Midway Utah Cemetery.
