SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Salt Lake City police say one man is dead after what is reported as an attempted home invasion led to gunfire and then a car crash.
Police say the man killed was in the car that crashed Tuesday night after the suspects left the scene of the reported home invasion but that it wasn’t immediately clear whether he died as a result of the crash or shots fired during the home invasion.
According to police, several men forced entry into the home and then were chased by at least one occupant of the home before the suspects sped off in a car that crashed a short time later.
Police found the man’s body in the car and later took into custody several people found on a train station platform.
