Wasatch Track & Field Competes At BYU Invitational

PROVO, Utah-Saturday, Wasatch High School’s boys and girls track and field teams concluded the BYU Invitational at Robison Track. This is the final tuneup for the Wasps before the Region 8 meet next week at Provo High School.

The Wasps’ girls posted 9 points, tying them for 26th with Sky View, Highland and West Jordan.

In the girls’ 3200-meter run, Abbie Randall placed 19th overall (11:28.21).

Randall also placed 56th in the girls’ 1600-meter run (5:27.29) with Madelyn King placing 97th (5:39.93) and Hailey Ellis finishing 116th (5:53.22).

In the boys’ 1600-meter run, Bentley Ackerson placed 104th overall (4:40.39).

In the girls’ 800-meter run, Anna Baird placed 53rd (2:28.49) overall with Savanna Dorrough placing 77th (2:32.87). Brooke Sargent finished 88th overall (2:33.89) and Madelyn King placed 112th (2:36.55).

In the boys’ 800-meter run, Kellin Olsen finished 22nd (2:01.01), Mack Hinckley placed 33rd (2:02.07), Bentley Ackerson placed 42nd (2:03.41) and Josh Horner finished 95th (2:09.62).

In the girls’ medley, the Wasps placed 10th (4:29.17). In this event, the Wasps were represented by Sydney Price, Lucy Clawson, Sydney Hales and Abbie Randall.

The boys’ medley squad placed 14th overall (3:52.99). The Wasps were paced by Mack Hinckely, Samuel Lemon, Kaden Smith and Carson Guymon in this event.

The girls’ 4 x 400 team placed eighth overall (4:05.90). The Wasps’ team consists of Sydney Price, Jennifer Lythgoe, Miranda Ross and Sydney Hales.

The boys’ 4 x 400 squad placed 17th overall (3:33.70). The Wasps were represented by Mack Hinckley, Samuel Lemon, Matt Johnston and Carson Guymon in this event.

In the 100-meter hurdles, Annie Hill placed second (15.23 seconds).

In the girls’ high jump, Alisha Maxwell placed 58th overall (4 feet-8 inches).

In the boys’ high jump, Samuel Lemon tied for 59th overall (5-06.25), tying with Juan Diego’s Kaiser Mataele and Hurricane’s Daxton McLaws.

In the boys’ shot put, Jay Nelson placed 23rd (42-04.75 feet).

In the girls’ discus, Erika Fredericks placed 32nd (92-00.75).

Finally, in the girls’ javelin, Quincy Olney placed 20th (96-09.50) and Ellie Tuddenham finished 41st overall (65-05.75).
