CEDAR CITY, Utah-As confirmed late Tuesday evening, Southern Utah University announced a new “SUU/Birdhead logo” after months of research and collaboration.
This process commenced with multiple meetings and design revisions followed by a campus-wide survey.
This elicited feedback and ultimately resulted in the emergence of the new design.
The marketing communication team on campus created and distributed a survey in the spring.
The survey included 1,536 people, including 1,146 students, 200 staff, 115 faculty, 70 alums and 5 community members.
An overwhelming 92.5 percent chose the Birdhead with the curved “SUU” letters directly behind it.
The standalone “Thor Thunderbird” logo will still be used to represent the SUU Thunderbirds mascot.
