DUCHESNE COUNTY, Utah-Friday, per numerous reports, the elderly man who drowned at Starvation Reservoir and died Thursday was identified.
Authorities confirmed the victim as 79-year-old Peter Tomadakis of Spanish Fork.
Tomadakis was fishing with a friend Thursday afternoon when he slipped and fell near the northwest side of Freedom Bridge.
The report states he then rolled several feet down the bank into the water to his death.
Authorities stated his fishing companion was unable to help him and called 911.
Duchesne County Sheriff’s office officials and Utah State Park rangers then responded to the incident.
By the time first responders arrived, Tomadakis was pronounced dead.
Starvation Reservoir is 70 miles southeast of Heber City via U.S. 40.
