OMAHA, Neb.-Thursday, Utah State football return specialist Savon Scarver is to receive the Jet Award at Omaha, Neb.
The Jet award is annually presented to the nation’s most outstanding return specialist during the Jet Award Gala at the Omaha Marriott Downtown.
The award is named in the honor of former Nebraska star Johnny “the Jet” Rogers. Rogers won the Heisman Trophy in 1972 and was best known for his talents as a return specialist.
Other winners of this award include current NFL standouts Christian McCaffery of Stanford in 2015 and USC’s Adoree Jackson in 2016.
The native of Las Vegas received first-team All-American honors, joining tackle Merlin Olsen (1961) and defensive end Phil Olsen (1969) as the only consensus All-Americans in Aggies football history.
Scarver averaged 28.5 yards per return in 2018 and also caught nine passes for 156 yards and a touchdown.
