SALT LAKE CITY-This weekend at West High School, Wasatch High wrestling placed second at the 5-A Divisonal A meet, falling by one point to the Box Elder Bees.
The Bees scored 389.5 points to the Wasps’ 385.5 points. Skyridge placed third with 310 team points.
The Wasps ended up qualifying 18 wrestlers for the 5-A state wrestling tournament February 13 and 14 at Utah Valley University in Orem.
At 120 pounds, Mitchel Slack took the title for the Wasps.
Other wins for Wasatch came from River Wardle at 126 pounds, Sammy Heywood at 132 pounds, Stockton O’Brien at 138 pounds, Zak Kohler at 145 pounds and Porter Chamberlain at 170 pounds.
