HEBER CITY, Utah-Upon completion of their first interscholastic meet of the season, the Wasatch High School boys and girls’ swimming teams each placed first at the Wasatch Kickoff Invite last week at the Wasatch Aquatic Center.
The ‘Swim’n women’ netted 680 points to best a four-team field consisting of second-place Herriman (600 points), defending 5-A state champion Cottonwood, who was third with 438 points and fourth-place Hillcrest, who netted 415 points.
Leading the way for Wasatch was Maddi Sisneros, who posted a time of 59.20 seconds.
The Wasatch boys’ squad netted a meet-best 640 points. Herriman was second with 586 points, Cottonwood, last season’s 5-A runner-up, posted 482 points and Hillcrest was fourth with 422 points.
70 percent of the ‘Swim’n men’ posted career-best times.
The season continues November 8 against Maple Mountain at Heber City in a co-ed meet at 3:45 pm.
