SALT LAKE CITY-Wednesday, the Wasatch boys and girls cross country teams competed at the state championship meet at Sugar House Park.
The 5-A girls’ championship was won by Springville as the Red Devils posted a score of 73.
The Wasps’ girls squad placed 10th with a collective score of 252.
Winning the individual 5-A state title for the girls was Woods Cross’s Carlee Hansen in 18:05.20.
The Wasps were led by Abbie Randall, who placed 16th in a time of 19:08.30.
Also placing for the Wasatch girls were Hailey Ellis (36th place, 19:59.60), Anna Baird (67th place, 20:52.20), Madelyn King (70th place, 20:56.40), Anna McCullough (83rd place, 21:20.20), Brinlee Luster (86th place, 21:22.80) and Savanna Dorrough (106th place, 22:10.90).
The Wasatch boys were represented solely by Mason Heimburger who placed 66th overall in a time of 17:06.30.
Winning the 5-A boys title were the Corner Canyon Chargers, posting a score of 47. The individual boys’ champion was Grant Gardner of Springville in a time of 15:26.80.
