Wasatch High Fall Sports Tryouts

HEBER CITY, Utah-Per Wasatch High athletic director Steve Marsing, fall tryouts are occurring in various sports this week.

Tryouts for the Wasps’ girls’ tennis team commence Monday from 9:00-11:00 am at the Wasatch High tennis courts.

They will recur Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday also from 9:00-11:00 am.

Girls soccer tryouts also are about to get underway at Wasatch High School. Those wishing to make the team must attend all the sessions.

The soccer tryouts begin Monday at 8:00 am for the first session, with the second session at 1:30 pm. The coaches request that aspirants to make the roster show up 15 minutes before each session.

Soccer tryouts run through Tuesday with the sessions recurring at 8:00 am and 1:30 pm.

The varsity/junior varsity/freshman squads will be named as of the conclusion of the Tuesday sessions.

The Wasps’ cross country tryouts for boys and girls are underway.

Because of paperwork requirements, registration must occur for all athletes who desire to run. Of the 70 athletes who are on the radar for the program, per an announcement from head coach Shauna Bowden, only 17 have fulfilled the legal requirements.

These athletes include Josh Benson, Jeremiah Dobesh, Mason Heimburger, Ethan Huntsman, Jake Lively, Eastin McCotter, Braden Patterson, Jack Sheehan, Ben Spencer, Luke Straddeck, Anna Baird, Grace Neal, Angel Phelps and Megan Woodward.

Coach Bowden has also listed a full schedule of practices and meets at this link. All practices, which are now underway, are mandatory for athletes to participate on the team this season.

The Wasps’ first meet will be August 17 at the Highland Invitational at Sugarhouse Park.
