Re-Entry Information For Dollar Ridge Fire

WASATCH COUNTY-

Friday, 8:20 pm

Friday, word from Utah Wildfire emerged that changes will be made to a key evacuation zone from the Dollar Ridge Fire Saturday morning. At 8:00 am Saturday, Evacuation Zone W-1 will move from mandatory evacuation status to pre-evacuation status.

Under this new ruling, residents and the public are allowed to enter the area only from U.S. Highway 40 from the south on Aspen Grove Road to the end of the pavement.

A road block, staffed by security, will be located at the end of the pavement on Aspen Grove Roatod.

Firefighting equipment will continue to be operated in all parts of Evacuation Zone W-1.

The public must drive slowly in these areas and anticipate encountering fire equipment in the area. At this time, both firefighting and the safety of the public are of paramount importance.

This access window that authorities have allowed grants access to Pine Hallow, 40 Dam Acres, Aspen Grove Campground and the marina.

The road block on U.S. 40 that exists at milepost 55 will remain in place. At this point, neither resident or public access is allowed.

Under the pre-evacuation status, at a moment’s notice residents and the public must be ready to evacuate if a need arises to do so.

Speed limits will be strictly enforced in this area as well and safety is of primary importance at this time.

Until further notice, the remaining southern portion of Evacuation Zone W-1 will remain under “mandatory evacuation” status. This will remain intact until the fire situation permits reentry into the area.

At the present moment, there is no projected date for the opening of the entire southern portion of this evacuation zone.
