DUCHESNE COUNTY, Utah-Sunday, as the eighth day of the Dollar Ridge fire commenced, an early morning briefing at Duchesne High School told of what authorities anticipate moving forward.
Per Sean Moody of KSL-TV in Salt Lake City, the blaze currently consists of 49,789 acres torched and is still at 30 percent containment.
The weather forecast suggests lightning storms are expected in the afternoon along with strong and erratic winds in the area.
Authorities, Moody continues, are hoping to build more dozer lines in the areas along the southwest perimeter of the blaze.
Per a report this evening from Lisa Nico of KUTV 2 News in Salt Lake City, the fire was 35 percent contained as of 9:04 pm MDT.
A 20 percent chance of rain exists for Duchesne both Monday and Tuesday per weatherchannel.com. Should those percentages come through, the firefighters may have a successful start to the week but time will tell.
