DUCHESNE COUNTY, Utah-Friday, as Day 6 of the Dollar Ridge fire commenced, a morning briefing occurred, conducted by the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office at the Duchesne County Fairgrounds.
Information shared revealed, per Caitlin Burchhill of KSL-TV in Salt Lake City, that the fire has torched 47,693 acres and remains only 4 percent contained.
Per Sarah Martin of ABC 4 Utah, water has been transported in, via tanker truck, to deliver vital support to combat the blaze.
The Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office also astutely dismissed some fake news, suggesting Tabiona is in danger. This is not true at the present moment and if anything should change, the office will swiftly send out information confirming this.
Amid the carnage of the fire, many Utahns have made things as positive as they can. For instance, various Heber Valley residents have provided accommodation for the evacuees by purchasing rooms for them at the Best Western Heber Valley Plus Hotel of Heber City.
Additionally, the Tractor Supply and IFA of Roosevelt have collected donations for animals displaced by the blaze.
Per Erin Cox of Fox 13 in Salt Lake City, volunteers in South Jordan have gathered supplies for evacuees of the Dollar Ridge Fire and more is coming over the course of the next few days.
As of 11:03 am MDT, the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office announced that traffic from Duchesne to the Wasatch Front is currently being diverted through Indian Canyon over S.R. 87. Also, the 208 cutoff between U.S. Highway 40 and S.R. 35 is closed off to all public access.
Also, evacuees, some of whom are Wasatch County residents, are being kept at Duchesne High School if no other accommodations have been provided for them as of yet.

In Salt Lake City, ABC 4 Utah has established a drop-off point at their studios, located at 2175 W. 1700 South.
They will accept donations through Saturday afternoon.
As of 6:00 pm MDT Friday evening, UDOT and the Utah Highway Patrol reopened U.S. Highway 40 through the Dollar Ridge fire area. Drivers are to go 35 mph and a “no stopping” rule has been strictly enforced between mileposts 56 and 59.
Evacuation orders will remain in effect until the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office revokes them.
Rae Ann Christensen of KUTV-2 News of Salt Lake City confirmed, as of 7:26 pm MDT, that fire officials reported the blaze is burning near the Pine Hollow area. Christensen confirms they are making water drops and digging dozer lines to protect homes in the area.
