TAYLORSVILLE, Utah-Tuesday, word emerged from the SLCC athletic department that three Bruins men’s basketball players have been named as NJCAA All-Americans.
This includes former Wasatch High star, freshman Nathan Dow, a Midway native, who became a 1st team All-American for having amassed a perfect 4.0 GPA this past academic year.
The 6’7″ Dow had two teammates who made the NJCAA Academic All-American 2nd team, in 6’8″ Hunter Schofield of Spanish Fork and 6’5″ Alec Monson, formerly of Olympus High.
To become a 1st team All-American, a 4.0 GPA is required, while the second team has a GPA requirement of 3.80-3.99.
Dow is planning to major in business finance and Schofield was an academician in high school as well, earning the UHSAA’s prestigious academic all-state distinction. Monson has said he plans to attend law school as soon as his playing days are done.
