CEDAR CITY, Utah-Southern Utah University athletic director Debbie Corum has announced numerous staff advancements and title changes ahead of the 2018-19 Division I athletic season for the Thunderbirds.
With more than six months at the helm of the Thunderbirds’ athletic department behind her, Corum has decisively set up her own organizational structure.
Among the changes she has made include the naming of two executive senior associate athletic directors in Todd Brown and Dan Moye.
Brown’s primarily responsibility is overseeing student services, which consists of academics and compliance, while Moye will oversee internal operations. This entails such things as student-athlete welfare, facilities and business operations.
Prior to these advancements, Brown served as the associate athletic director for compliance and Moye was the associate athletic director for internal operations/student athlete welfare.
The SUU revenue generation team has also seen some tweaks as Frank Purcher will serve as deputy AD, while Nicholas Bartlett has been promoted to associate AD for corporate sponsorships.
Cam Brooks will serve in dual roles, in both the SUU advancement office in athletics and in a new role, as the executive director of major gifts.
Tyly Bozzuto, a former SUU gymnast, is now the athletic department’s director of annual giving, and Shon Spevak is now the assistant athletic director for ticket revenue.
Paula Kelsey, at least on an interim basis, will serve as administrative assistant, while also partly serving as the assistant to the athletic director.
As to the academic side of the athletic department, Joshua Wardle is now the assistant AD for academics and will oversee the staff working in academic support.
Travis Illian, the assistant athletic director for sports performance, will retain his role and also take on additional roles in regard to administration and nutrition.
Kit Janes, a staple of the southern Utah and Cedar City communities, is now the assistant athletic director for facilities and event management.
In closing, Joey DeGraaf has had his title changed from creative director to director for creative design.
