McKardy Kelly Named As Utah High School Rodeo Queen

HEBER CITY, Utah-Last week, the Wasatch County Outdoor Arena hosted the Utah High School Rodeo Finals and one of Heber Valley’s home-grown talents excelled.

Per a report in the Wasatch Wave, Wasatch High freshman McKardy Kelly won the Utah High School State Finals rodeo queen contest.

Kelly becomes the first freshman to represent Utah at the national finals since 1993.

Sporting a 4.0 GPA last year, Kelly has become an honors student at Wasatch High.

She is the daughter of Jason and Misty Kelly of Midway and in her new role will represent Utah as she competes against girls at the National High School Rodeo Finals at Rock Springs, Wyo. July 14-21.

Her competition consists of girls from all 50 of the United States as well as five Canadian provinces in addition to competitors representing Australia and Mexico.
