CEDAR CITY, Utah-Wednesday, the Southern Utah University women’s volleyball team and head coach Pete Hoyer released their 2018 schedule.
Hoyer was impressed with the slate the Thunderbirds have chosen, saying “our preseason schedule provides us with all levels of competition and an opportunity to play some teams that SUU wouldn’t ordinarily face.”
The Thunderbirds will play in four non-conference tournaments this season participating in events hosted by UNLV, Grand Canyon, San Francisco/Saint Mary’s and UC Irvine.
In these tournaments, Southern Utah draws the likes of Indiana at Las Vegas and Boston College at Phoenix.
The Thunderbirds’ home opener is September 20 against Big Sky foe Weber State and senior night occurs November 15 against Eastern Washington.
The first appearance before fans for the volleyball team will be August 18 for the annual alumni game.
