Governor Herbert Honors Heber City Resident

HEBER CITY, Utah-Per a report in the Wasatch Wave, Utah Governor Gary Herbert made a sound decision in honoring a Heber City resident.

Jim Fosgate, who is known for inventing the first car amplifier in 1973, and his wife, Jeanette, were honored by Herbert last week for his contributions in the world of sound.

Fosgate, per his Wikipedia page, remains active in the world of audio and runs Fostage Laboratories of Laguna Beach, Calif.

The decorated Fosgate also received an Emmy award for his development of surround sound for television in 2003.

The Indianapolis-born Fosgate was also instrumental in the creation of the Dolby Pro Logic II.
