Suspect Arrested For LDS Meetinghouse Shooting In January

(Salt Lake City, UT) — Prosecutors say a suspect is behind bars for allegedly taking part in a deadly shooting outside a meetinghouse of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The January shooting killed two people in the parking lot on North Redwood Road in Salt Lake City. It happened outside of a large funeral, but at the time many witnesses were unwilling to speak to police. Now in custody is John Vea Uasike Junior. He was arrested in the Sacramento area after he was named in a sealed, federal indictment. Earlier this year, two other men were charged with obstruction of justice. Police say the investigation is ongoing.
