AUSTIN, Texas-Monday, at the Austin Regional, BYU women’s golf found itself in the middle of the standings, excelling in certain situations but coming up short in others.
The Cougars, who are ranked #41 nationally, finished sixth at the Austin regional, posting a score of 291 +3. Host Texas is currently in first place after the first day of competition at -7.
The stars for the Cougars on Day 1 of this regional were Kendra Dalton and Rose Huang, each of whom posted 71 -1, tying them for 15th in the overall standings.
Their teammate, Naomi Soifua, is currently in 42nd place at 74 +2. Annie Yang is currently in 49th place overall for the Cougars (75 +3) and Anna Kennedy, at 76 +4, is currently tied for 55th place. The Cougars’ play resumes Tuesday at 8:00 am MDT.
AMARILLO, Texas-At Day 1 of the NCAA South/West NCAA Division II super regional men’s golf tournament, Dixie State finds itself in ninth place overall at the conclusion of Monday play.
Currently, St. Mary’s (Texas) is in the lead at 286 +2, while Dixie State is nine strokes behind at 297 +13, tied in this position with Arkansas-Fort Smith.
A trio of Trail Blazers find themselves tied for 30th overall at 74 +3, Dalton Stanger, Jayce Frampton and Landon Anderson.
Nicklaus Britt is tied for 42nd overall for the Trail Blazers, at 75 +4.
The current overall leader is St. Mary’s Eric Valenzuela as he posted a 66 -5 to pace the Rattlers. The tournament resumes Tuesday.
